Zara is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, co-ordinating the MSc./P.Grad Dip/P.Grad.Cert in Palliative Care and module lead for the four specialist modules. Zara also works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care in St Francis Hospice Dublin based in one of the Community Palliative Care Teams. Zara's clinical background is in Head and Neck Oncology and ENT Nursing. Zara has carried out research on the Identification and Management of Existential Distress in Specialist Palliative Care which has been presented Internationally and published in the International Journal of Palliative Care Nursing and the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management. Zara is an active member the Irish Association of Palliative Care and peer reviews for International Palliative Care Journals.
