I joined the Department of Hispanic Studies at TCD in 2007, upon graduation from the MPhil in Literary Translation. During my first year teaching (2007-2008) I was the Spanish Language Assistant in the SLLCS. After this, I was promoted to Teaching Fellow. I lecture on Contemporary Spanish Life and Culture as well as conducting various seminars and tutorials on Spanish language and translation at different undergraduate levels; currently my modules are JF Beginners, SS ES Minors and BSL final Oral Project. Before my time in TCD, I graduated in English Studies from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, spending my final year (Erasmus) at the University of Regensburg, Germany. I also spent a further year studying French culture and language at the Sorbonne in Paris.

My principal research focus is on Literary Translation and Translation Studies, with particular emphasis on the impact of Culture on Translation and the field of Retranslation. My other interests include English Studies, Women's Literature, Contemporary Politics and Cultural Studies of Spain, Film Studies, and the Literature and History of the 19th and 20th centuries.
