Dr. Ignacio Martin-Loeches, MD, PhD, FJFICMI is a full-time Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at St. James's Hospital and Professor at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He serves as Chair of the Acute Critical Care Group at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and is the elected Chair for Research at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). Previously, he was the Chair of CoBaTrICE (International Competency-Based Training Programme in Intensive Care Medicine for Europe and other world regions) under ESICM and an elected council member of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine. He is also a Steering Committee member and executive member of the research working group of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC). Dr. Martin-Loeches is the Principal Investigator of multiple projects funded by European Regional Development Funds (ERDF), Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), and the European Network for ICU-related infections (ENIRRIs) under ERS. He has authored over 600 peer-reviewed publications, accumulating more than 37,445 citations. His h-index is 98, and his i10-index is 358, reflecting his significant impact on critical care and infectious diseases research.
