Dr. Aaron Hunter

Teaching Fellow (Film Studies)

 


Dr Aaron Hunter holds a BA from Bates College (Eng Lit), an MA from the University of Maine (Eng Lit), and a PhD from Queen's University Belfast (Film Studies, 2013). His main areas of interest include 1970s Hollywood cinema, women in film, film music, screenwriting, and television studies. Aaron has written, edited, or co-edited several books, most recently POLLY PLATT: HOLLYWOOD PRODUCTION DESIGN AND CREATIVE AUTHORSHIP (2022) and WOMEN AND NEW HOLLYWOOD: GENDER, CREATIVE LABOR, AND 1970S AMERICAN CINEMA (co-edited with Martha Shearer, 2023). He has served on the board of Irish Screen Studies since 2016 and was a board member of the Dublin Feminist Film Festival from 2017-2022. He joined the staff of TCD in 2021.
