My research concerns the future conservation of the environment by determining past climatic and environmental baselines and determining subsequent changes post-human arrival in the landscape. I particularly enjoy using a multiproxy approach on cores to reconstruct changes in environmental conditions through time. I have laboratory experience in micro-fossil (palynology and foraminifera), geochemical (inorganic and organic), geochronological and sedimentological analyses as well as experience in coding using R. My previous research has pertained to a number of different environmental settings including patterned fens, wetlands and intertidal zones, and is currently focussed on reconstructing drought histories from blanket bogs in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland. I am really interested in expanding my knowledge and applying my expertise to a variety of different environments with an increased focus on using a combination of modelling and geochemical methods.
