Jimmy Eadie is a sound artist, composer, and researcher working across sound design, audio engineering, music production, and software development. His practice-based research explores the relationship between creative production and technical systems, with outputs spanning hybrid installations and internationally presented performances. His academic work has been published in Organised Sound and Leonardo, as well as in Springer and IEEE conference proceedings, and he has presented at numerous peer-reviewed international conferences. He holds a PhD in Sonic Design and an MPhil (Hons) in Music & Media Technology, with additional professional training in acoustics and audio technologies. From 2009 to 2019, he played a central role in the development and delivery of music production programmes at Pulse College/Windmill Lane Studios, Griffith College Dublin, and University of Central Lancashire. His theatre sound design work has received multiple Irish Times Theatre Awards, including awards in 2011 and 2015, with additional nominations recognising his contribution to Irish theatre. As an audio engineer and producer, he worked on numerous critically acclaimed recordings from his Dublin-based studio between 2004 and 2014, and toured internationally, performing at venues including Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. He was a founding member of Crash Ensemble in 1997, serving as audio engineer and technical manager, and contributing to the development of the ensemble"s distinctive sound. Earlier in his career, he was a professional musician, releasing work on Ensign, Setanta, and Dirt Records.
