Jimmy Eadie is an educator and professional in sound design, recording, and music production. His award-winning work spans hybrid installations and performances presented internationally. His research focuses on audio engineering, music production, audio software development, and sound design, with publications in Organised Sound, Leonardo Journal, and Springer IEEE, alongside presentations at numerous peer-reviewed conferences. Jimmy holds a PhD in Sonic Design, an MPhil (Hons) in Music & Media Technology, and multiple postgraduate certifications, including a PGCert in Higher Education Practice and a PGCert in Teaching & Learning Technology from TCD. He also earned a Diploma in Game Audio Design & Production from Berklee College and professional certifications in Acoustic Analysis (Rational Acoustics, UK), Sound System Optimisation (Meyer Sound, USA), and Film Sound Editing (Screen Training Ireland). His foundational training includes a City & Guilds qualification in Sound Engineering. Between 2009 and 2019, Jimmy developed and led music production courses at Pulse College and Griffith College, where he also lectured. His work in theatre sound design has been widely recognized, winning Irish Times Theatre Awards for soundscape design in 2011 and 2015, with additional nominations highlighting his contributions to Irish theatre, particularly with Pan Pan Theatre, Dublin. An experienced audio engineer, Jimmy has produced and engineered numerous critically acclaimed albums and toured internationally with Irish artists, performing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. He was a founding member of Crash Ensemble, Ireland's leading contemporary music group, serving as an audio engineer and technical manager. His contributions helped shape the ensemble"s distinctive sound, earning it international recognition. Earlier in his career, he was a professional musician, releasing music on Ensign, Setanta, and Dirt Records.
