Jimmy Eadie is a professional in sound design, recording, and music production, with award-winning work spanning hybrid installations and internationally presented performances. His work explores audio engineering, music production, software development, and sound design, with publications in Organised Sound, Leonardo Journal, and Springer IEEE, and presentations at numerous peer-reviewed conferences. Jimmy holds a PhD in Sonic Design, an MPhil (Hons) in Music & Media Technology, and multiple postgraduate certifications, including PGCerts in Higher Education Practice and Teaching & Learning Technology. He also earned a Diploma in coding for Game Audio Design from Berklee College and professional certifications in Acoustic Analysis (Rational Acoustics, UK), Sound System Optimisation (Meyer Sound, USA), and Film Sound Editing (Screen Training Ireland). His foundational training includes a City & Guilds qualification in Sound Engineering. From 2009 to 2019, Jimmy played a leading role in the development and delivery of music production programmes at Pulse College/Windmill Lane Studios, Griffith College and University of Lancashire (UCLAN). His work in theatre sound design has been widely recognised, winning Irish Times Theatre Awards for soundscape design in 2011 and 2015, with additional nominations highlighting his contributions to Irish theatre. An experienced audio engineer, Jimmy produced and engineered numerous critically acclaimed albums form his commercial studio in Dublin between 2004 to 2014 he also toured internationally with artists, performing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. He was a founding member of Crash Ensemble (1997), Ireland's leading contemporary music group, serving as an audio engineer and technical manager. His contributions helped shape the ensembles distinctive sound, earning it international recognition. Earlier in his career, he was a professional musician, releasing music on Ensign, Setanta, and Dirt Records.
