Biography

I am an experienced clinical nurse having practiced nursing in a variety of clinical settings ranging from care of the older person, medical, surgical and neuromedical/surgical nursing in the UK, USA and Ireland. Since 1996 I have been practising as a nurse teacher/lecturer. I have many years of experience of supervising research projects on both postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, across a variety of topics including advanced nursing practice, acute and chronic care. I have a keen interest in the area of complex intervention development and testing along with the advancement of research at patient level.

Telephone interventions Neurological nursing in particular Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, meningitis. Nursing practice: in particular clinical skills. Infection control; Care of older persons; Stress and stress management.
