Adam received his medical school training from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) Dublin and subsequently embarked on Basic Specialist Training in General Internal Medicine in Beaumont Hospital and Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown in Dublin. He went on to hold posts as a Clinical Lecturer in Medicine in RCSI and Registrar in Geriatric Medicine in Beaumont Hospital, Connolly Hospital and St James's Hospital in Dublin. His subsequent qualifications include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) in General Medicine and a Professional Diploma (ProfDip) in Clinical Leadership from RCSI Graduate School of Healthcare Management. His current role is as Lecturer Registrar in Global Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) in Trinity and Mercer's Institute of Successful Ageing (MISA) at St. James's Hospital. He is currently completing his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) with the School of Medicine in Trinity investigating sensory function and its relationship with cognitive and non-cognitive symptoms in dementia with Lewy bodies under the supervision of Professor Román Romero Ortuño and Professor Iracema Leroi.

Adam's research interests include stroke and neurovascular medicine, frailty, dementia and cognitive impairment, delirium and comprehensive geriatric assessment, chronic diseases in older adults and diversity in older populations. He is currently completing his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) with the School of Medicine in Trinity investigating sensory function and its complex relationship with both cognitive and non-cognitive features in dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson's disease dementia. He also has an interest in medical and health humanities and interdisciplinary research, in particular the representation of ageing and memory impairments within the arts and humanities.
