Project Title
 NEON TCD
From
2020
To
Ongoing
Summary
Project with the Neonatal and Children's Brain Consortium Ireland NEPTUNE programme. This study investigates the functional brain changes in neonatal encephalopathy (NE) infants and the associated behavioural and cognitive consequences. I report the structural MRIs of infants recruited to the study determining whether there are any changes on conventional MRI to suggest a hypoxic ischemic injury.
Programme
NEPTUNE
Project Title
 DIETOMICS CD (M-EEN) Study
From
2019
To
Ongoing
Summary
The purpose of this study is to determine whether induction and maintenance of remission in Crohn's Disease can be achieved with a new dietary strategy that involves only 2 weeks of Exclusive Enteral Nutrition (EEN) with Modulen and 12 weeks of an exclusion diet involving selected table foods. This novel approach will be compared to the gold standard dietary regime involving 8 weeks of EEN. As the Radiologist on this project I report the MR Enterography on these patients pre treatment and one year later. I perform scoring on each segment of large and small bowel to determine how much bowel is involved in the inflammatory process and how this responds to treatment.
