I am an innovative researcher with a growing national and international profile. I have published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals (42 peer-reviewed publications) and have 163 citations (H-index of 8). I disseminate my research widely (at international conferences in Australia, USA, Brazil, UK, and Canada) and engage with the community to ensure maximum impact. I have presented at the Houses of the Oireachtas, Westminster parliament, and Scottish parliament provided keynote and invited presentations in Australia, the UK, and Ireland, written four book chapters, including 3 in student textbooks. I have also written 16 communicating science blog posts for a membership website with an audience of more than 12,000 health professionals (www.theInformedSLP.com). I have secured more than €550,000 in research funding to date. I have been recognised as a future leader in childhood disability research by two organisations (ISAAC International and The British Academy of Childhood Disability). I have built an extensive research collaboration network internationally, and I am working with two international research teams on large scale bids. I am a co-investigator on the ESRC-IRC funded UK-Ireland Communicative Participation Research Network.
